What is Dial-a-Ride?
It is a flexible minibus for people of any age who cannot use ordinary bus services. For instance you might be able to walk to your nearest bus stop to get the bus, but you aren’t able to get back home from the stop as you may struggle to carry shopping.
Who can use it?
You don’t have to be registered disabled to use our service. You might be able to walk long distances, but find walking with a load or climbing steps onto an ordinary bus uncomfortable.
Where can I go?
You can go anywhere is the Keynsham and Saltford area daily Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays) – outlying areas (see map) are covered designated days and times. The service will also take you to a Doctors appointment, Hospital or Clinic.

In addition to the ‘on demand service’ there are trips to Bath once per month, a full/half Day trip weekly and a regular 3 monthly newsletter/Trips list sent to our members where there are trips to numerous garden centres and places like Wells, Clarks, Trowbridge, Cirencester, Weston, Cheddar, Clevedon, Cwmbran, Abergavenny and many others.
We provide transport to and from Keynsham Railway Station where you can link up with trains operating to Bristol and Bath.
What if I need a wheelchair or scooter?
We would need to assess the wheelchair or scooter once you have registered with is to ensure it is suitable for transporting you safely, details required would include make and model.
How does it work and how to join?
You need to register with us as a member before using the service as this is a MEMBERSHIP SCHEME ONLY.
Once you have registered you can start using the Door to Door service. Please make your bookings at least 24 hours in advance.
What does it cost?
- There is an Annual Membership Fee
- Diamond Travel Card (Bus Pass) holders can travel within Keynsham and Saltford £3 single or £5 return.
- Travel to outlying villages £5 single or £8 return.
No Diamond Travel Card, price doubles respectively.
Will the driver help me to get on and off?
Drivers will always ask you if you need any assistance. Drivers will certainly help you with carrying any heavy loads you may have.
Transport to Hospitals?
We provide transport to and from hospitals which include RUH, St. Martins, The Circle, South Bristol Hospital, NHS Centre (Emersons Green) – book our service as soon as you have an appointment.
Can I travel with an escort or companion?
You can bring a companion but they will need to fill a Registration Form and pay the fare unless you have the letter ‘C’ on the right of your Diamond Travel Card (Bus Pass).
The above only applies if you travel within the Bath and North East Somerset area.
Cancelling a booking?
Please call us as soon as you know that you cannot travel, this will free up a seat for someone else. There is an answerphone outside of office hours.
About the buses?
All minibuses are fully accessible and either have a ramp or an electric tail lift should you find the steps into the bus difficult to use.
We also own several MPV cars.
Timetable?
There is no ‘set’ timetable as we operate a flexible service. We try to meet your request for travel and may at times ask if you can alter your time or day of travel, always in agreement with the customer of course.
